These pieces are from the 4xFNT show at Buckham Gallery in Flint Michigan, I joined three other Flint artists: John Dempsey, painting instructor at Mott community College, Tim Krantz, painting instructor at U of M Flint, and Mike Sevick, art instructor at U of M Flint.
“Making objects has been an exploration, taking me down many different meandering paths. When viewed from a distance, over time, I believe they have a common direction. I frequently feel the need to “re-travel” some of these past explorations; especially where the imagined destination was never reached.
This show represents a return to the reason I started making pottery, to make functional pieces that are visually pleasing. This path has led me a little further into the levels of control and color in high fire glazes I had previously not achieved.”
